About AEVA

We built the experts you could never hire into one system.

AEVA Digital is one connected platform that runs a cash-pay practice and grows it, paired with a small team of genuine experts whose work is amplified by agentic AI. The people who understand the whole engine, the industry, the design, the growth, and the software that ties them together, are nearly impossible to hire. So we encoded twenty years of that expertise into a system the experts keep tuning while the AI executes at scale. Founded 2021.

Why AEVA exists

Integration is the scarce resource.

The hard part of growing a cash-pay practice was never any single channel. It is making the site, the ads, the content, the booking, the checkout, and the data that proves what worked run as one engine. Almost no one can connect that engine end to end, and the few who can are scarce. That scarcity is the problem AEVA was built to solve.

The origin

We learned every piece the hard way.

The founders spent more than a decade inside aesthetics, plastic surgery, dermatology, health, and wellness, and twenty years building companies. During those years, hires and vendors kept failing them. They were forced to learn every skill themselves: SEO, the newer answer-engine and generative search work, website builds, content, ads, funnels, automation, data, and design.

That was the education. Build a thing, watch where it breaks, learn the piece you were missing, and build it again. After enough cycles, the pattern was clear: the practices and platforms that won were the ones where every part talked to every other part.

Every time the founders pulled apart a failure, they found the same problem. The work demanded several skills at once, but each role covered only one. The analyst could read the data but could not design the page it pointed to. The designer did not know search. The ad buyer could not make the creative. Nobody could edit the video. The list kept growing, and the work kept dying in the handoffs.

The founders also helped scale large startups online and consulted for some of the biggest companies in their fields. They watched well-funded organizations struggle to grow the right way, even with every advantage. Too many layers and too many handoffs broke the work before it reached the patient, no matter how large the budget.

Scott and Jeff started working with machine learning before GPT-4 existed. The founders pointed it at a stubborn question about which sources produced patients who showed up and paid. The models exposed a deeper problem. Most practices could not connect a patient's first click to the visit, the purchase, and the follow-up treatment. Data mattered only when a team could act on it fast, changing an ad funnel or a service page when the numbers called for it, without waiting on design or engineering.

In Scott's words: once they knew how all the pieces fit together, they learned why everyone failed. AEVA Digital was founded in 2021 to act on that lesson, self-funded with the founders' own money and no outside investors.

The problem with hiring it

A quality agency cannot simply be hired.

Owners know what needs to happen. Many know how to do it. What they do not have is the rare, connected expertise to run the whole engine, because that expertise is structurally hard to assemble. The few people who hold it are already building companies or part of the foundational team at one.

  1. The people who see the whole engine are too few to hire

Industry, design, growth, and the software that connects them rarely live in one head. The few who understand all of it are already busy running their own companies, with their hours spoken for.

  2. Hiring fast is how quality dies

You cannot find enough great people in a hurry, so teams fill the gap with mediocre hires and bleed money on them. The best people never have enough time, and the people with time tend to create the problems.

  3. Every piece has to talk to every other piece

Ads, visuals, automation, data, design, and knowing whether the patient actually paid. Miss one link and the chain breaks. Most tools cover a slice and leave the practice to stitch the rest by hand.

The move

So we encoded the team instead of scaling it.

Rather than hire faster, AEVA automated the work its experts could never repeat by hand for practice after practice, the site builds, the campaign scaffolding, the reporting. The expertise lives in the system, so any practice draws on the same senior judgment. They built their standards and care into every process so neither would fade as AEVA grew.

  • The skill floor is the best people

A junior designer at a typical agency ships junior work. At AEVA, the system carries the founders' twenty years of build decisions, so the funnel a new specialist stands up follows the same rules the best one would use.

  • Specialists focus, the machine supplies the rest

A specialist works on what they do best, and the system fills in the parts the core team was once forced to learn. An ad person can spin up a funnel that matches a practice's brand without waiting on anyone.

  • Experts tune it, every customer gets the upgrade

Experts test and refine, then the winning version ships to every practice on the next release, so the best work becomes the standard everywhere.

  • Built to swap pieces and stay current

Models, channels, and formats change constantly. The system is designed to swap a piece without breaking the whole, so the work keeps pace with a field that moves quickly.

Find one landing-page change that books more consults, and it becomes the default across every account AEVA runs.

The founders

Three founders spent twenty years learning what the machine now carries.

AEVA was founded in 2021 by Jeff Woodrow, Justin Gottlieb, and Scott Kera. Twenty years of building and selling startups forced all of them to learn every skill, and taught them to refuse the trap of hiring the wrong people fast. Scott and Jeff started the machine learning work together. Justin grew up with Jeff, and he built the financial and legal side of AEVA from the ground up the right way.

  • Co-founder and CEO

    Scott Kera

Scott started his first company, CandidateBroker, in his early 20s, then sold it to DataViz in 2014. As COO of Zwivel, a plastic surgery virtual consult platform, he was featured in The New York Times in July 2016, when the platform listed 1,400 doctors and more than 28,000 registered patients. It grew to nearly 1 million monthly visitors during his time there. He has spent more than 10,000 hours hands-on with machine learning and AI, starting years before GPT-4 existed and still counting.

  • Co-founder and COO

    Jeff Woodrow

Jeff leads the team that builds AEVA's platform, from scheduling and charting to the patient app. He was part of the founding team that sold the online hiring platform CandidateBroker to DataViz in 2014. He also opened a med spa with his wife, a nurse practitioner who runs it full time, built to prove everything the founders had learned from working with practices. Jeff's full time is AEVA, and owning a practice keeps the customer's reality in front of him every day.

  • Co-founder and CCO

    Justin Gottlieb

Justin was CFO of large international companies, and he is also a CPA, which is a fun fact. He handles AEVA's finances and client contracts. He and Jeff have been friends since childhood, so the partnership behind AEVA predates the company by decades.

The team

Dozens of specialists, and growing.

The machine changes who AEVA hires and how they work. Great people no longer have to know everything the founders were forced to learn. A specialist focuses on what they do best, and the system supplies the rest, so an ad person can stand up a funnel that matches a practice's brand without waiting on anyone.

The result is genuine experts whose work reaches every practice at once. In Scott's words, the goal is the right people without the noise. The founders care, and because they are in the machine, every practice gets the founders.

Where AI fits

AI is the amplifier. The experts and the system are the substance.

AI multiplies whatever it is given. Point it at deep expertise and constant testing, and strong work compounds. Point it at weak direction, and the flaws spread just as fast. The people directing the models have to know the industry, the growth work, and the software those models touch, because people are the limiting factor at every business. AEVA was built to keep the most experienced hands close to every decision.

AEVA runs many kinds of models, including ones it trained for specific stages of the work, set alongside the best frontier models. As better models appear, they get swapped in without breaking the rest. The testing, the practice data, and the workflow around them are what a practice buys.

The true experts AEVA works with needed an easier way to put their knowledge into a growth system. The machine is that interface. It takes the best person at the practice, usually the owner who is also the provider, and produces their quality even when they are not watching. Every page and post is grounded in that practice's own services, providers, and towns, drawn from its own profile in the system.

Who this is for

Built by people who feel every dollar.

Practice owners and founders run into the same constraint. The person with the most at stake rarely has enough time, because the hardest problems keep finding their desk. Agencies often weaken as they grow. Each new layer puts more distance between the founders who set the standard and the people doing the work. The few that resist the pattern price for corporate budgets, money that belongs to no one in the room.

AEVA is the founders' answer to that constraint. They built their standards into the system so the work stays close to the people who set them. Practice owners get the attention agencies usually reserve for their biggest accounts, at a scale that fits a cash-pay practice, from people who know what it costs to make payroll.
